The Kiladeda Farm

In 2016 we finalized all the preparations for the new Farming Skills Training project at the 2-acre farm Amani owns in Moshi. The farm plot was fenced and a classroom, storage room, cow barn and professional chicken coop were built. Close to a hundred fruit tree seedlings were planted, and now we have 100 chicks and a cow.

A farming teacher has just joined Amani and we expect to plant a variety of vegetables on different sections of the plot. The farm activities will be part of the school curriculum at Amani. At the farm the children have the opportunity to learn valuable skills that they will be able to use when they go back to their community, having more balanced diets and generating some income.
