Position Title: Social Worker – Street Educator
Location: Amani Singida Satellite Centre
Employment Type: Contract
Reports to: Program Coordinator
About Amani Centre for Street Children
Amani Centre for Street Children is a leading child-focused organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and reintegrating street-connected children in Tanzania. Through outreach, education, and family reunification, Amani empowers children to transform their lives and realize their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular street outreach and rescue vulnerable children from the streets.
Provide education, guidance, and counseling to street children and youth.
Work closely with the community to raise awareness on the needs and rights of street-connected children.
Collaborate with Government officials and stakeholders to enhance child protection.
Recruit and mentor street champions to support Amani’s interventions.
Advocate for the rights and wellbeing of street children.
Support the transformation process of children from the street to the Centre, in partnership with child case workers.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, Counseling, or Psychology.
Minimum of two years’ experience working with street-connected or vulnerable children.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with children, youth, and communities.
Flexibility, resilience, and ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to spend most of the time in the field (street outreach).
Basic computer literacy.
