As a founding member and now Chair of Friends of Amani US, Diane has supported Amani’s mission from the very beginning. What started as one woman’s vision has grown into a respected organization that continues to restore hope for vulnerable children.

Her commitment reflects the power of people who believe in giving every child a second chance.

For ten years, Editruda has worked directly with street-connected children in Singida. Her journey began with a powerful lesson on her first day in the field — understanding that children on the streets are not there by choice, but because of difficult circumstances at home.

Through patience, trust, and compassion, she has helped many children leave the streets and rebuild their lives.

At just 12 years old, Martha Godwin’s life was filled with challenges and uncertainty. Growing up in Moshi, she faced serious difficulties at home and spent time on the streets at a very young age. In 2013, Amani stepped in, providing safe care, education, and long-term support that helped change the course of her life.

Today, Martha is pursuing a Degree in Social Work, determined to help vulnerable children in her community.

Amani Centre for Street Children in Tanzania will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on 25th September 2026. For 25 years, Amani has supported vulnerable children to move from life on the streets to safety, education, healing, and hope.

To mark this milestone, Friends of Amani UK is inviting supporters to take part in a nationwide running challenge to raise funds for Amani’s life-changing work. Every mile you run and every pound you raise will go directly towards supporting children and young people in Tanzania to build brighter, more secure futures.

Whether you run alone, with your school, club, church, or community group, your participation will help transform lives. Every mile truly makes a difference.

We are excited to share updates from the Amani Kiladeda Farm, our sustainable agriculture project that is nourishing young lives and building a brighter future for former street-connected children.

Thanks to the generous support from Purpose Earth, we were able to transform our farm into a thriving hub of nutrition and learning. Over the past few months, we have been able to plant more vegetables and buy more cows for milk production.

It’s time to Lace Up for Amani in the 2025 NYC Half Marathon!

Join us on Sunday, March 16, for this iconic event through Brooklyn and Manhattan. Run 13.1 miles and raise awareness and funds for the kids of Amani Children's Home in Tanzania.

In exchange for guaranteed entry into the event, each participant must fundraise a minimum of $2,000. Amani's team will provide you with a personal fundraising webpage plus tips, sample emails, and more.
